Adhadhu has learnt that the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is postponing the disciplinary proceedings against Supreme Court Justice Dr. Azmiralda Zahir due to the lack of relevant documents.

The JSC initiated a disciplinary investigation against Azmiralda after the Supreme Court began hearings on the petition to quash the constitutional amendment that disqualifies MPs for switching political parties.

Azmiralda and Justices Husnu Suood and Mahaz Ali Zahir were suspended by the JSC after receiving an Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) letter about a criminal investigation against them.

JSC scheduled Azmiralda's hearings for yesterday and today. But they have not yet handed over the summons.

According to sources, the summons cannot be served because Azmiralda had requested the letter relating to the case and relevant documents of the entire case, communications and its timeline.

But the JSC has failed to provide the requested information.

Multiple sources confirmed that the case registration slip is the only document in the investigation. There are no other documents ot evidence.

Azmiralda had earlier requested the JSC for public hearings. But the JSC decided against it after claiming that an open hearing could harm the public interest.
