The Maldives government has condemned Israeli settlers' storming of the Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards.
In a statement on Monday, the Foreign Ministry said such acts constitute a flagrant violation of international law.
"These repeated violations represent an attack on the religious rights of the Palestinian people and Muslims worldwide," it stated.
The Maldives government reiterated calls to take decisive measures to hold the occupying forces of Israel accountable for their actions.
The statement also called on the international community to "protect religious sanctities and ensure adherence to international law."
According to international media reports, the occupying forces have tightened restrictions on the entry of Palestinian worshippers to the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Meanwhile, Israeli settlers have called for increased incursions into the mosque during the Hanukkah holiday, the Jewish festival of light.
