Raushaan elected as Vice President of ICF

California, USA – Hussain Raushaan, the General Secretary of the Carrom Association of Maldives (CAM), has been elected as the Vice President of the International Carrom Federation (ICF).

The election, held in the United States, will see Raushaan take on the role for the next four-year term..

Raushaan’s tenure as General Secretary with CAM began in 2019, during a challenging post-COVID period.

As General Secretary, he has played a pivotal role in revitalizing the association, focusing on strengthening international ties to support the Maldives' national carrom team.

Over the past five years, the Carrom Association of Maldives has made significant strides, particularly in building relationships with international carrom bodies—efforts that have not only boosted the sport’s profile in the country but also fostered a sense of unity within the global carrom community.

Under his leadership, the Maldives was chosen to host the Asian Carrom Championship in 2024, marking the first time a South Asian country has hosted the prestigious event in nearly a decade.

Raushaan’s efforts with the international federation were crucial in bringing the championship to the Maldives, a milestone that has been highly praised by the national carrom team and the broader carrom family.

His success has been attributed to his ability to forge strong international partnerships, laying the foundation for continued growth and recognition of the sport in the Maldives and beyond.
