Aishath Noordeen has decided to step down from her job at the Bank of Maldives (BML) after resigning as the deputy CEO.

Posts on BML's social media accounts confirmed her decision. Adhadhu has also obtained a copy of her message to employees following the resignation.

In her message, Aishath said she was leaving the bank after 42 years of service. She said BML will always have a special place in her heart and noted that the bank has progressed and overcome many challenges.

Aishath praised the bank employees and advised them to uphold their code of conduct and to be kind to each other.

"As loyal employees of the bank, you have always been the top priority. I have no doubt in my mind that this will continue to be the case and that the bank will continue to grow in the years to come and will overcome challenges and celebrate achievements," her message read.

In late August, Aishath also resigned from the BML board of directors after the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) sent her a letter saying she had been dismissed over the bank's decision to impose limits on dollar transactions.
