Adhadhu won awards in four categories at the 2023 Journalism Awards held by the Maldives Media Council (MMC).
Hassan Mohamed, associate editor of Adhadhu, won the journalism award in the political category for the article "Proxy Votes, Register Issues and the Debate: The Historical Experience of the First Primary."
Azzam Ali, associate editor of Adhadhu, won the journalism award in the sports category for the article "Neglected futsal turned into an influential sport!."
Mohamed Miran Nashim won the award in the video documentary category for his work "From Kandholhudhoo, Unfaded Memories, Mixed Emotions." The documentary was about the people of Raa Kandholhudhoo who had to relocate after the 2004 Tsunami.
Adhadhu also won the award in the investigative journalism category for the documentary "Skeelan."
The documentary was produced about President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu's stepmother, Gnei Skeelan, a Sri Lankan citizen, who was blacklisted and deported from the Maldives.
The documentary featured interviews with the widow and presented evidence about her blacklisting.
