The Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has urged consumers to be vigilant over the alert issued by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) over the poor quality of 16 drugs manufactured in India.
The MFDA said in a statement that it had checked whether any batches of the drugs had entered Maldives. The authority confirmed that none of the drugs have been imported into the country.
But MFDA urged caution as many Maldivians travel to India for medical purposes.

MFDA said it would strengthen inspections at ports to prevent low-quality drugs from entering the Maldives.
