Addu City, Maldives (August 14) - Canareef Resort Maldives will host the 15th World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships and Electoral Congress this November.

The events are scheduled to occur from November 5 to 11.

Situated in Addu City, Canareef Resort will be the venue for this year's elite bodybuilding and physique sports championship. This will mark the first time the competition is held in the Maldives.

Organized by the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives (BBAM) under the World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF), the event represents a major milestone in the Maldives' sporting calendar.

Maldives has previously hosted the South Asian Bodybuilding Competition three times and the Asian Bodybuilding Championship once. The South Asian competition was first held in the Maldives in 2001 and returned in the past two years.

The Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship was held in K. Maafushi in 2022.

“Under the exceptional leadership of Mr. Ibrahim Hameed, BBAM has demonstrated outstanding capabilities and dedication, solidifying Maldives’ position as a premier destination for bodybuilding and physique sports in the region,” Datuk Paul Chua, President of World Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Federation (WBPF), stated.

Ibrahim Hameed, President of BBAM said, "this prestigious event, organised by the Bodybuilding Association of Maldives and supported by the Government of Maldives, represents a significant achievement for our nation".
