The Maldives Meteorological Service (Met Office) has said that 231.5 mm of rain was experienced in Haa Alif Kelaa island in the last 24 hours.
The Met Office also stated that 177.5 mm of rainfall in Haa Dhaal Hanimaadhoo, 102 mm of rainfall in Raa Ifuru and 77.8 mm of rainfall was received in Haa Dhaal Kulhudhuffhushi.
Additionally, 69.6 mm of rainfall in Kaafu Kaashidhoo, 59.6 mm of rainfall in Kaafu Gaafaru, 53.6 mm of rainfall in Baa Goidhoo and Raa Alifushi received 50.5 milliliters of rainfall was also recorded by the Met Office.
All parts of the country experienced rain over the past 24 hours, while more than 35 mm of rain was recorded in Haa Dhaal Makunudhoo, Noonu Maafaru, Kaafu Dhiffushi, Alif Dhaal Maamigili and Laamu Kadhdhoo.
The Met Office has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain with thunderstorms and winds of between 25 and 30 mph in the northern atolls.
Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a warning to the public to take precautionary measures as the rain continues to intensify.
