The eighth edition of the Boat Operators Training Program for marine captains, in collaboration with Alia Investment and the Maldives Institute of Technology (MIT) has successfully concluded.
The training program was held with 64 participants from various resorts, marine transport service companies and government institutions. The training program developed the skills of captains and provided technical information on vessel safety and security.
"The training program provided participants with practical skills needed to confidently navigate various types of speed boats, navigation chart reading, safety protocols and emergency procedures, as well as a practical session on first aid, fire safety and outboard engine maintenance and troubleshooting," Alia stated.
The captains who participated in the training program were awarded certificates of completion.
Participants of the training program said it has given them more confidence to pursue their careers.
Alia thanked everyone who contributed to the training program, which meets industry standards and includes maritime safety, professionalism and practical training.
Meanwhile, Alia has opened for participants to join the fifth Yamaha Technical Training 2024 in collaboration with the Yamaha Technical Academy of Japan.
This year marks the 50th anniversary of the introduction of Yamaha outboard engines in Maldives and Alia has been carrying out various programs for the benefit of the community.
