Sri Lankan media has reported that President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu is scheduled to pay an official visit to the country in the first week of August.
Citing officials from the President's Office, the Sri Lanka Guardian confirmed the planned visit and said the Maldives government is seeking Parliament approval for agreements to be signed between the two countries.
However, the President's Office has not yet officially commented on the matter.
Reports say President Muizzu is scheduled to meet with Sri Lankan officials and hold discussions to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields.
President Muizzu paid his first official visit to China after taking office. The President has visited Turkey and the UAE as well.
His most recent overseas trip was made to India for the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
