The Civil Court ordered India's Go Air on Monday last week to pay USD 3.6 million to the Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA).
According to the Civil Court judgment, the amount was owed from Go Air to MIRA as unpaid airport service charge, departure tax and airport development fee between April 2022 to March 2023.
The Civil Court ordered the payment of USD 3,580,588 within one month. The judgment was delivered in the absence of Go Air.
The Civil Court had been unable to deliver summons for the hearings to the old address of the Go Air office. The airline no longer operates in the Maldives, according to the court judgment.
