Rafil Mohamed, who represents the Maldives Association of Tourism Industry (MATI) on the board of directors of the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), has submitted his resignation.
The Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) confirmed Rafil's resignation to Adhadhu.
Rafil was appointed as a board member of the MMPRC three months ago. The reason for his resignation is unclear. Rafil has been the Executive Director of MATI since 2018.
His resignation comes after Aisha Nurain Janah resigned as chairperson of MMPRC on Tuesday night. In a post on social media today, PCB confirmed that she resigned from the MMPRC board and from the post of chairperson.
Nurain, daughter of Principal Advisor on Trade and Investment Mohamed Ali Janah, was appointed as MMPRC chairperson on December 27, 2023.
