A fire that broke out at the waste management center in Noonu Velidhoo has destroyed machinery beyond use along with a large part of the building.
The fire broke out on Saturday afternoon at the center built two years ago. The cause of the fire remains unclear.
The fire was put out in about two hours, according to the Velidhoo council.
"Some machinery used at the center and the drag brush machine used at the football pitch were destroyed," the council said in a post.
