Efforts to remove Indian soldiers from the Maldives before May 10 are going ahead on schedule, the Foreign Ministry has said.
The Foreign Ministry provided the update after the fourth meeting of the High-level Core Group formed between the Maldives and India to discuss the withdrawal of Indian soldiers. The meeting took place at India's External Affairs Ministry in New Delhi on Friday.
"Both sides noted with satisfaction that the government of India will replace military personnel at the last of the three aviation platforms by 10 May and all the logistical arrangements are going ahead as per schedule," the Foreign Ministry said in a statement released after the Core Group meeting.
Discussions also took place on reviewing existing bilateral ties and strengthening cooperation in development and defence.
The India-Maldives High-level Core Group was formed as agreed upon during a meeting between President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Dubai in December last year.
