The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) on Wednesday signed an agreement with a Chinese company to develop a warehouse complex in Hulhumale'.
HDC awarded the project to China's Rotime Engineering and Technology, a company registered in Hong Kong.
The warehouse complex will be built with modern facilities and an "automated warehouse management system," HDC said in a press statement.

The warehouse is to be built with cold storage, industrial warehouse units and storage capacity for food and consumables. A building with office space and a showroom will also be developed in the complex.
The warehouse, which is to be completed in two years, will bring revolutionary change, HDC Managing Director Fazul Rasheed said. Small and medium-sized businesses would benefit from the facility, HDC said.
The government previously awarded other projects to Rotime Engineering and Technology, including the construction of a co-living space building and living quarters for foreign workers in Hulhumale' as well as the development of a surfing arena.
