Six land plots close to beach for sale in Maafushi

Maafushi island council has announced the sale of six land plots near the beach in the island's newly reclaimed zone.

According to the announcement, the plots are about 2000 square feet. They are two 1991 square feet plots and four 1961 square feet plots.

The bid book will be available for 30 days starting Sunday. The price of a bid book is MVR 30,000. Successful bidders have to pay a processing fee of MVR 50,000. The fee must be paid before signing the agreement.

The payment for the land must be paid within seven days of signing the agreement. The land registry will be issued by the council within seven days of payment.

The land can purchased by 100 percent Maldivian-owned companies, people over the age of 18, cooperative societies and private businesses.

While the island council has announced the sale of six plots, the price of land in Maafushi has risen greatly over the past few years due to local tourism.

Currently, 50 guesthouses are in operation on the island which is about 600 rooms.
