A team of chefs from the Maldives have departed for Germany to attend the world's largest tourism trade fair, ITB Berlin 2024, which will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The members of the team are executive sous chef Ibrahim Zuhair and two pastry chefs Aminath Lahufa and Junaina Jamsheed.
They will serve traditional food at the Maldives stand at the ITB Fair and demonstrate the preparation of Maldivian cuisine to visitors at the live station.
At the Maldivian Evening 2024 planned by Visit Maldives this year, Maldives' first master chef and board member of Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC), Maha Naseer will lead the team of Maldivian chefs to prepare Maldivian fusion cuisine for the gala. More than 500 guests are expected to attend the event.
Companies participating in the fair include hotels, tourist boards and tour operators from around the world. More than 100 tourism companies are participating in the Visit Maldives stand at this year's fair.
