The government is seeking approval for three ministers who were reappointed despite being rejected by the Parliament.
Attorney General Ahmed Usham, Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar and Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed were rejected by the Parliament on January 29.
The three ministers were reappointed to the posts by President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu on the same day.
Parliament's Communications Director Hassan Ziyau confirmed to Adhadhu that the government is seeking approval for the three ministers for a second time.
Forty-four MPs voted against Usham while 24 voted in his favor. Thirty-one MPs voted against Shaheem while 30 MPs voted in his favor. Eight MPs abstained.
Forty-six MPs voted against Haidar while 24 MPs voted in his favor.
Meanwhile, MP Eva Abdulla has submitted a resolution that says reappointing the rejected ministers is unconstitutional.
According to the resolution, this is an act that undermines the authority of the Parliament and causes a loss of confidence in the government.
