President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has reappointed the three ministers who were rejected by the Parliament today.
Attorney General Ahmed Usham, Housing Minister Dr. Ali Haidar and Islamic Minister Dr. Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed were rejected by the Parliament this afternoon.
However, the President reappointed them this evening. Usham was also reappointed to the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
The sitting to approve the cabinet ministers was held this afternoon after being postponed several times as government MPs were disrupting proceedings.
This came after the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) and The Democrats, which control the majority in parliament, decided not to reject some ministers.
