Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef left for China on Monday night to attend the China-Indian Ocean Region Forum on Development Cooperation.
The forum, organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), will be held from December 7-8 in Kunming, Yunnan Province.
The Vice President will deliver a speech at the forum and will also meet some Chinese officials during the visit.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed is accompanying him during the visit.
After he visits China, the Vice President will attend a high-level event to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR75) to be held in Geneva from December 11–12, 2023.
