The Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has been told to vacate its office in Henveiru Hurafa building.
The owner of the property made the request on Friday.
This comes after former President Abdulla Yameen's resignation from the party. The owner sent a letter asking to vacate the premises within one day.
The letter states that the ground floor and first floor of Hurafa were leased "at the request of President Yameen, to run an office of President Yameen".
"I have noticed that a PPM office is currently operating on the leased premises. Therefore, I have decided to terminate the agreement between the two parties and request you to vacate the premises before noon today [November 24, 2023]," the letter said.
Yameen decided to leave the PPM and form a new party after being sidelined by the party leadership in support of President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu.
