President Dr Mohamed Muizzu appointed Ali Shareef as the Special Envoy for Climate Change and State Ministers to several government ministries on Wednesday.

The ceremony to present the letters of appointment was held at the President’s Office on Wednesday afternoon.

The appointments made by the President are as follows:

  • Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology – Lubna Mohamed Zahir
  • Minister of State for Economic Development and Trade – Mohamed Thariq Ahmed
  • Minister of State for Fisheries and Ocean Resources – Dr Amzath Ahmed
  • Minister of State for Sports, Fitness and Recreation – Abdul Razak Ibrahim
  • Minister of State for Dhivehi Language, Culture and Heritage – Mohamed Shahuruzziyad
  • Minister of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development – Mariyam Fizaana Rashyd
  • Minister of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development – Dr Abdul Raheem Hasan
  • Minister of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development – Fathimath Mohamed
  • Minister of State for Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development – Ahmed Shafeeu
  • Minister of State for Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts – Ahmed Munaz
  • Minister of State for Cities, Local Government and Public Works – Mohamed Ibrahim

Sabra Ibrahim Noordeen served as the Climate Change Envoy of the previous government.
