The awarding of land plots from Giraavaru and Gulhifalhu will be complete by November 5, State Minister for Housing Akram Kamaludeen has said.
Akram told Adhadhu today that work is ongoing on marking the plots in Giraavaru and Gulhifalhu.
The ministry is also issuing the plot's registry to successful applicants.
Akram previously said that the plots along with the registry would be handed over before November 11. But he now expects the work to be done faster.
The 9,003 plots to be allocated in the first round under the 'Binveriya' scheme include 1,351 plots in Hulhumale', 2,219 plots in Gulhifalhu and 5,433 plots in Giraavaru lagoon.
Around 26 hectares of land is required in Hulhumale', 42 hectares in Gulhifalhu and 73 hectares in Giraavaru.
The government planned to reclaim 169 hectares of land in the Giraavaru lagoon. Land reclamation is also ongoing in Hulhumale'.
