The no-confidence motion against Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed has been put on the agenda for Monday's sitting.
The ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) parliamentary group decided to impeach the party's former president in June.
The party submitted no-confidence motions against both Nasheed and Deputy Speaker Eva Abdulla which has stalled the sittings.
But according to the agenda released by the parliament Secretariat, Nasheed's motion is the first item for Monday.
Fifty-four MPs signed the motion to impeach Nasheed who later left MDP and joined the newly formed Democrats.
Democrats presidential candidate Ilyas Labeeb came third in Saturday's presidential election with seven percent of the votes.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih from the MDP got 38.2 percent of the votes. It is crucial for MDP to get Nasheed and the Democrats backing to win the second round.
Progressive Party of Maldives-People's National Congress (PPM-PNC) candidate Dr. Mohamed Muizzu secured a significant victory with the most votes in Saturday's presidential election.
Adhadhu's preliminary results from all 574 ballot boxes show Muizzu in the lead with 100,691 votes or 45 percent.
