China was the largest source market in Maldives last month, according to statistics from the Ministry of Tourism.
According to the tourist arrivals statistics, 1.2 million tourists arrived in the Maldives by the end of August. That is a 14 percent increase over the same period last year.
Some 151،587 tourists visited the Maldives in August with 28,939 of them from China. China has now settled at the third spot of tourism market.

Although the number of Chinese tourists has been steadily rising, Russia still remains the top source market and India is at the second spot.
