The four southernmost atolls have been connected with Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service.

RTL services were launched in Fuvahmulah and Addu on Friday. The two atolls are now connected to Gaaf Dhaal and Gaaf Alif through RTL service. RTL services will also be available every day of the week.

"We will conduct free of cost travel among these two new routes for 1-week duration. The purpose of the trial period is to facilitate customer awareness and familiarity," Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said.

"RTL Ferry Services will be provided 7 days a week. Ferry schedule will be accessible on RTL travel app and RTL website."

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih recently announced during his tour of Noonu atoll that RTL ferry service will begin in the atoll soon.

Solih, who is campaigning for re-election, said the service will begin in Noonu atoll before the end of this year.

RTL ferry services are now available in Haa Alif, Haa Dhaal, Shaviyani, Lhaviyani, Gaaf Alif, Gaaf Dhaal, Addu and Fuvahmulah.
