The national carrier has decided to commence direct flights to Bangalore, India, a popular destination for Maldivians seeking medical treatment overseas.
According to the Maldivian airline, the twice-weekly flights on Mondays and Wednesdays will begin on October 30.
Maldivian said the flight schedule was made to offer convenience to holidaymakers as well as to business and medical travelers. Tickets are now available for booking.
Maldivian operates international flights at present to Trivandrum and Cochin in India and to Dhaka in Bangladesh with almost daily flights to the former destination. The airline has a fleet of 14 aircraft.
Maldivian said previously that it was trying to bring new aircraft for long-haul international flights.
