The "Dhaalan" clinic built to expand services of the women's rehabilitation center at the Hulhumale' halfway house was opened on Sunday.
First Lady Fazna Ahmed opened the clinic at a ceremony in Hulhumale'.
The Dhaalan clinic, which also offers online consultations, focuses on treatment for female drug addicts and guidance with family planning and reproductive health.
Aside from treatment for general illnesses and women's health issues, the clinic's services also include treatment for drug addiction, minor procedures and tobacco cessation therapy.
Services offered at the clinic with the assistance of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and the Society for Health Education (SHE) include awareness programmes on family planning and reproductive health.
The opening of the Dhaalan clinic allows people who previously faced difficulties in accessing centralized services to seek help remotely.
The clinic offers both out-patient visits and in-patient admission services.
At the opening ceremony, First Lady Fazna expressed gratitude and recognized the work of the UNFPA, SHE, Hulhumale' hospital and Dhaalan clinic officials.
