The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Road Development Corporation (RDC) Yasir Hassan has decided to sue Mihaaru News over an allegedly defamatory article.
In a statement, Yasir said the article was untrue and was published with the intention to cause harm to him and RDC.
The article with the headline "money deposited into employees' accounts is petty cash: Yasir" made serious allegations against him.
Yasir said the RDC audit report would show that no embezzlement or fraud had taken place in the transfer of money.
He added that money-related transactions are conducted by dedicated employees in the company as he does not have the authority to do it personally.
Yasir said the matter would be referred to the relevant authorities and that he would take legal action against Mihaaru.
RDC has also decided to sue Dhiyares News for allegedly spreading false information about the company.
