The Honorary Consul General of Hungary in Maldives, Mohamed Ali Janah, has announced that efforts are underway to facilitate an easier visa process for students studying in the country under the Hungary government's special scholarship programme.
A statement from Janah said he was working with the Hungarian Embassy in New Delhi to facilitate "a streamlined visa application process" for students studying under the scholarship scheme announced in October last year.
Once the forms are submitted to the VFS Global Shenzhen Visa Application Center in Male' and the physical forms reach the Hungarian Embassy, online meetings will be conducted with the students to complete the visa process.
When the process is completed, the students will get their visas stamped in their passports and received from the visa center in Male'.
"This removes the necessity for students to travel to the Embassy of Hungary in New Delhi," Janah stated.
Students can also get assistance from the Honorary Consul General of Hungary to prepare the necessary documents for this process.

Hungary increased the number of scholarships awarded to Maldivian students from 15 to 25 annually under a higher education agreement during the visit of the Hungarian Foreign Minister to the Maldives last year. A total of 100 scholarships will be available until 2024.
