Nearly 100,000 tourists visited the Maldives in June, official figures have shown.

According to the statistics released by the Tourism Ministry, more than 95,000 tourists visited the country from June 1 to June 21.

This is relatively high as the months of June and July are generally considered off-season in Maldives tourism due to the rainy season.

A total of 45,958 tourists visited the Maldives in June 2022.

Statistics show that the total number of tourists visiting Maldives in the first six months of this year is over 900,000.

China, which resumed direct flights to the Maldives earlier this year, ranks sixth in the top ten tourist markets.

Maldives tourism has recovered to pre-Covid levels, with India accounting for the largest share of the market this year. Russia, UK, Germany and Italy are also among the top markets.
