The Election Commission (EC) has received more than 500 complaints to the voters' list for the upcoming September presidential election.
EC Vice President Ismail Habib said the most common complaints were about the names of deceased persons being on the list.
Some 465 out of the total 551 complaints were regarding the issue.
The second highest number of complaints were filed over changes in address. A total of 58 such complaints were filed.
Around 19 complaints were received because the names of eligible voters were not on the list. EC said they would respond to the complaints within five days.
"If a person is not satisfied with the EC's response, they have the opportunity to file a complaint in the High Court. Once the final list of eligible voters is made public, there will be no further opportunity for anyone who did not file a complaint," Habeeb said.
EC earlier announced that 282,672 people are eligible to vote in the September 9 presidential election.
President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will contest on the ticket of the ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Despite remaining in the governing coalition, the Jumhooree Party decided to contest separately and awarded its ticket to the party's leader Qasim Ibrahim.
Former attorney general Dr. Mohamed Munavvar, former defence minister Colonel Mohamed Nazim and former home minister Umar Naseer are also contesting in the election.
The Democrats, a new party formed under the leadership of speaker and former president Mohamed Nasheed, has also announced plans to field a presidential candidate.
