Bank of Maldives (BML) and Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB), the two largest banking service providers in the country, have announced that banks will be open only on Monday next week.

The government declared public holidays from June 23 to July 1 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. Banks will be closed during that period, except for Monday.

MIB will be open from 8 am till 2 pm while BML will be open from 8:30 am till 2 pm.

Banks will be closed for the Eid holidays on eight days of the week but call center services and digital banking services will be available during those days.

Both banks have advised customers to choose digital banking services during the holidays. MIB and BML ATMs will also be available 24 hours a day.

The two banks recently introduced chatbots to make it easier for customers to access services. The bots will enable customers to clarify all the information they need during the upcoming Eid holidays.

This year's Eid-ul-Adha falls on Wednesday next week. BML and MIB have sent Eid greetings and congratulations to their customers.
