Seychelles president in Maldives for state visit

President of Seychelles Wavel Ramkalawan arrived in the Maldives on a four-day state visit.

According to the President’s Office, the visit from June 11 to 14 is being made upon an invitation from president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

The Seychelles president is accompanied by his wife Linda Ramkalawan.

The President’s Office announced that the government will hold a ceremony on Monday to officially welcome the Seychelles president.

The two presidents will meet and hold official talks during the visit and several agreements will be signed to strengthen bilateral cooperation, the President’s Office said.

The visit demonstrates the strong ties between the two island nations and is expected to enhance collaboration in areas of mutual interest, the office added.
