Ten groups win Maldives first Civil Society Awards

Awards were handed over by president Solih.

Ten civil society groups won the Maldives’ first Civil Society Awards on Thursday night.

The award-winning groups have made contributions in the areas of education, environment, island development and women empowerment.

Six groups applied for the award and four won in the special recognition category.

The award-winning groups are:

Women empowerment - Southern Community Empowerment of Maldives
Health - Aged CareMaldivess
Special needs - Care Society
Education - Imagu
Culture - Maldives Poets’ Association
Environment - Naifaru Juvenile
