The brother of a man who was stabbed to death in Addu City voluntarily turned himself in to the police on Thursday afternoon.
Ahmed Shuveyb, 27, from the Maradhoo Feydhoo district, died of stab wounds on Wednesday night. His brother, Hussain Mawaz, is accused of stabbing him in the neck with a scissor.
The police media official told Adhadhu that Mawaz came to the police station on his own in the late afternoon.
He arrived after the police obtained a court warrant for his arrest.
Shuveyb was attacked around 11:30 pm. According to the hospital, he was brought in with injuries around 12:00 am. He passed away around 4:00 am while undergoing treatment.
A video circulating on social media shows the victim lying with injuries on the pavement in a pool of blood. The sounds of people crying can be heard in the background.
