"Nation is fully protected against 1988-style foreign aggression"
Defence Minister Hassan Rasheed stated that the Maldives is now fully equipped to prevent foreign aggressions like the 1988 coup attempt. He highlighted the acquisition of new naval vessels and drones from Turkey and Australia to monitor maritime territory. While acknowledging no nation is 100% secure, he assured the military remains vigilant.
