Govt to take over stalled resort projects starting next week
The government will begin seizing stalled resort projects next week under new regulations to recover over $500 million in unpaid fees. Tourism Minister Mohamed Ameen stated that lease agreements for long-delayed developments will be terminated to ensure these properties generate public revenue and jobs rather than remaining idle.
