The Maldivian civil service workforce grew by 16% over three years, reaching over 34,000 employees. Monthly salary expenditures surged 44% to MVR 511.2 million, largely due to pay framework changes. Despite these rising costs and staff numbers, public dissatisfaction with the quality of government services remains high.
