Majlis approves establishment of National Payment Switch
The Maldives Majlis has approved laws for a National Payment Switch to unify all bank transactions under a single network. Managed by the MMA, this system will ensure full interoperability for QR and POS payments while keeping financial data domestic. The move aims to lower fees and mandate bank cooperation for digital payment integration.
