Historic presidential desk auctioned off
The Maldives President's Office auctioned off historic state furniture, including a desk used by five different presidents. Rather than preserving the items as artifacts, the government sold the high-end pieces to the public. One buyer acquired the historic presidential desk, crafted from expensive timber, for just MVR 12,500.
