Govt orders removal of former Presidents from speech
The Housing Ministry ordered a student to remove the names of former presidents and leaders from an Engineering Awards speech, leaving only President Mohamed Muizzu’s name. Staff at Maldives Polytechnic expressed concern that the directive distorts history to praise the current president, who is also expected to receive an award.
