Journalists jailed to criminalize and punish investigative work
The CPJ has condemned the imprisonment of Adhadhu journalists Shahzan Mohamed and Leevan Ali Nasir in the Maldives, calling it an attempt to criminalize investigative reporting. Both were jailed without a fair defense over their work. The watchdog is demanding their immediate release and an end to the judicial harassment of the press.
