Man sentenced to 50 years for smuggling drugs
Abdulla Faseeh was sentenced to 50 years in prison for smuggling cannabis and diamorphine strapped to his thighs at Velana International Airport. He received two life sentences and a fine of MVR 200,000. The court rejected his defense that he was a victim of human trafficking due to a lack of evidence.
