Essential food and commodity prices in the Maldives rose by 6.07% year-on-year this July, driven largely by a 14.54% spike in fuel and gas costs. While annual inflation remains high, monthly data showed a slight 1.27% dip due to falling vegetable prices. The opposition MDP plans to protest the rising cost of living on August 13.
