This project aims to provide essential infrastructure for 308 housing plots, addressing a common national issue where reclaimed land remains uninhabitable due to a lack of basic utilities.
NewsDevelopers invited to build affordable housing units in islands
The Maldives Construction Ministry is inviting local developers to build 2,100 affordable housing units across 13 islands via a PPP model. Contractors must finance and complete the projects within 24 months in exchange for free land and tax exemptions. At least 60% of units must be price-capped three-bedroom apartments for first-time buyers.
