The Indian government has granted permission to increase the export of basic commodities to the Maldives upon a request from the Muizzu administration.
The Indian High Commission said in a statement that the export of basic goods to the Maldives has been extended for the coming year.
Permitted items are:
Meanwhile, the quota for rice imports for the upcoming year has been increased by 77 percent.
"The approved quantities are the highest since this arrangement came into effect in 1981," the Indian High Commission said.
