The Italian cruise ship that arrived in the Maldives last week departed with a group of Italian tourists stranded due to the war in the Middle East.

Flights have been cancelled, and many people have been unable to return to their countries due to the war between US-Israel and Iran.

According to Cruise Mapper, the Costa Deliziosa vessel is helping 28 Italian nationals return to their country.

Costa Deliziosa arrived in the Maldives with 1855 passengers and 881 crew members. The ship arrived in the Maldives after docking at the port of Colombo.

Its next stop is in Mauritius. The ship's final destination is Cape Town, South Africa. It will arrive in Cape Town on March 18.

A week into the war, 154 flights to the Maldives have been cancelled. However, the number of tourists stranded in the Maldives is unknown due to a lack of information from the government.
