Villa, a leading company in the tourism industry, has begun developing its first resort in Raa atoll on Maanenfushi island.
The concept is to develop a total of 42 villas, including beach villas and water villas. There are 22 one-bedroom beach villas, three two-bedroom beach villas, 15 one-bedroom water villas, a two-bedroom water villa and a three-bedroom water villa.
In addition, the resort will have buildings to provide services to tourists and accommodation blocks for the employees.
Under the first phase of the project, water villas, buildings for services, staff accommodation, and a power plant will be constructed. The beach villas will be developed in the second phase.
Villa aims to open the resort in December 2026. This will be the sixth resort under the Villa brand. Other resorts developed by the company are:
Villa currently operates four resorts. Operations have been suspended at its first resort, Fun Island. Villa is in the process of renovating the resort.
The founder of Villa is MP Qasim Ibrahim. In addition to tourism, Villa operates extensively in the air transport, shipping, wholesale and retail industries.
