The owner of an online tutoring service has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a minor.

Ali Aflah is the owner of Bright Minds. Police said the 27-year-old was arrested on Wednesday (February 11).

Police did not officially identify the suspect. His remand was extended by 30 days when summoned to court.

Aflah, a teacher who founded Bright Minds Education Pvt Ltd, was arrested at the Velana International Airport (VIA) upon his return to the country.

He changed the shareholders of Bright Minds Education Pvt Ltd in September 2025.
